CPL 2024 PREDICTION AND Preview

The 2023 Caribbean Premier League season will begin on August 26. All the teams had to undergo some changes at the last minute because the availability of players became a big problem. Having said that, there is no shortage of stars taking part in the 2023 CPL and we look set to hold another exciting tournament.  

All matches will be played at St. Kitts and there are double-headers every day except the 2021 CPL Finals.

TRINBAGO KNIGHTS RIDER

2020 CPL Position: Winner

Strength

TKR is a very strong batting lineup, quite possibly the strongest this season as well. The reigning champions have three players scoring 20 points each in the 2020 CPL! Lendl Simmons scored the most goals with 356 runs and will once again lead the line with support from Kieron Pollard, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo and Tim Seifer.

Weakness

Not too much to be honest. There may be some concern that some players are past their best and at the end of their careers but that has not stopped TKR from dominating till now.

CPL 2021 BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS FOR TRINBAGO KNIGHT RIDERS

TKR is the current betting favorite and quite frankly, at 3.00, not a bad rate at all. We think they are almost certain to qualify for the playoffs and anything can happen from there. We think they have a good chance of lifting the title once again.

AMAZON GUYANA FIGHTERS 

CPL 2020 Results: Second After Group Stage, Lost in Semifinals

Strength

The Guiana Amazon Warriors have some of the brightest young West Indian cricketers in their team. We’re talking about Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, and Brandon King taking the lead. The Warriors also have some very experienced and reliable players like Shoaib Malik, Imran Tahir, and Mohammad Hafeez. 

His hitting is strong on paper and his bowling isn’t too bad either.

Weakness

The Guiana Amazon Warriors are often unpredictable with their punches. Players like Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran could have had plenty of good games between innings. Death bowling also seems to be a concern.

CPL 2021 Betting Tips and Predictions for Guyana Amazon Warriors

The Guiana Amazon Warriors are currently being offered at 6.50 to win the 2021 CPL. The bookmakers rate them below all but one team in the CPL and we think that is a mistake. GAW certainly has a team to qualify for the playoffs, even though it doesn’t end up winning. 

We want Shimron Hetmyer to be their top scorer, because he is last year with 267 runs. Imran Tahir should be an easy choice for the Guyana Amazon Warriors Top Bowler Betting market as well.

ST. LUCIA KINGS

CPL 2020 Results: Runner-Up (Lost in Final)

Strength

St. Lucia Kings have packed their team with plenty of utility players who can contribute with bat and ball. This gives the sides a lot of depth and flexibility. They have Samit Patel, Keemo Paul, Rakheem Cornwall and Roston Chase all of whom should have a place on the playing eleven. 

Andre Fletcher provides the power-ups up front while Obed McCoy, Kesrick Williams and Alzarri Joseph will headline the bowling attack.

Weakness

A little light on the power of the punch and the power in the middle. Bowling will also rely on Obed McCoy too much for our liking. There are some people who can contribute but the quality is a bit lacking.

CPL 2021 Betting Tips and Predictions Lucia Kings 

St. Lucia Kings is currently being offered at odds of 7 to 1. This is the longest odds of any team to win the 2021 CPL and we have to say we agree with the bookies here. We just don’t see a bet on St. Lucia Kings to win as a risk worth it this time.

Keep an eye on Tim David during the 2021 CPL season. He’s been brilliant in PSL and we think he could be a surprise package for St. Lucia Kings once again. Obed McCoy becomes the Highest Goal-taker for St. Lucia Kings looked very likely. 

ST KITTS DAN NEVIS PATRIOTS

CPL 2020 Results: Last (Only one win from ten matches)

Strength

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP) have improved their batting lineup for this season. More importantly, it looks like the senior SP players are fit and well ahead of the 2021 CPL. Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, Sherfane Rutherford, Fabian Allen, Ravi Bopara and Asif Ali should all be available for this edition. CPL. 

It was a nice batting lineup with a lot of T20 energy and skill in there. 

Weakness

We are worried about the fitness of players like Gayle and Lewis because they tend to rest or get injured a lot. The bowling attack is also quite weak With Sheldon Cottrell and Fawad Ahmed as two names to look out for but no one else backing them. 

CPL 2021 Betting Tips and Predictions for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots 

We think SNP have a great chance of qualifying for the 2021 CPL Semifinals. They have enough quality to finish in the Top-4 quite easily. Evin Lewis is the obvious choice for the hitter to hit the most, but Sherfane Rutherford might as well be the dark horse in this race.

BARBADOS ROYALS 

CPL Results 2020: 5th (Second-Last) in Group Stage

Strength

The Barbados Royals have several players in their lead form this season. Players like Kyle Mayers, Glenn Phillips, Hayden Walsh, and Jake Lintott have made a name for themselves in international cricket or other franchise competitions recently. 

Jason Holder, Thisara Perera and Mohammad Amir also added a lot of experience to the team. 

Weakness

Lack of depth in the batting line. Johnson Charles is the team’s leading batsman and while he is a fine player at CPL level, he is not really that reliable. Shai Hope is not a natural T20 player and so much of the responsibility for running will fall on Glenn Phillips. 

The bowling lineup is also full of players which can be very expensive on most days. 

CPL 2021 Betting Tips and Predictions for Barbados Royals

Barbados Tridents are currently being offered at 5.50 to win the 2021 CPL. Bets rate them the same as SNP or Jamaica Tallawah and we think it’s just bananas. Barbados Tridents could lead to a loss or two but will struggle to reach the semi-finals.

Glenn Phillips was our pick for the Top Batsman Barbados Tridents while Hayden Walsh was our pick to be the top goal taker for his team.

JAMAICA TALLAWAHS

CPL Results 2020: Ranked 4th in Group Stage, Lost in Semifinals

Strength

Jamaica Tallawahs won just three games in the group stage in 2020 but only slipped to the semi-finals. Their greatest strength is the presence of Andre Russell, the best T20 player in the world. He will have Rovman Powell, Chadwick Walton and Carlos Brathwaite for support this season. 

This versatile line-up and world-class force hitter make Jamaica Tallawah a very dangerous team. 

Weakness

It seems that no one really wants to play for Jamaica Tallawah and there has always been discontent in the camp. This makes Tallawah’s performance timeless. We think they are out of balance in their line-up and the bowling attack also looks a bit thin.

Jamaica Tallawah are currently rated as the second most likely team to win the 2021 CPL. That is ridiculous and they only really stand a chance because of the CPL format. We doubt whether they will be able to reach the 2021 CPL semifinals as well or not.

The Caribbean Premier League was launched in 2013, replacing the Caribbean competition Twenty20, which had been relaunched in 2010 and only ran four times before the Caribbean Premier League replaced it.

The Caribbean Premier League is the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in the Caribbean, a region renowned for producing quality players and renowned for its love of the game. Since its inception the Caribbean Premier League has been contested by teams from across the Caribbean, which includes countries such as Barbados and Jamaica, as well as St Kitts and Nevis.

Stadiums for the Caribbean Major Leagues are located across America, from Sabina Park in Jamaica to Central Broward Regional Park, which is a purpose-built cricket ground located in Florida, USA.

The first six teams to register for the Caribbean Premier League are:

In 2015, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots joined the Caribbean Premier League as the first expansion team. The franchise is actually backed by the government of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Many of the players for this new franchise are from the Antigua Hawksbills, who did not join the 2015 Caribbean Premier League and have been an inactive franchise ever since.

SEASON

The first season of the CPL was in 2013. It was won by the Jamaican Tallawahs, who then finished third in the second season, before winning for the second time during the 2016 Caribbean Premier League. The Guiana Amazon Warriors have been one of the most consistent teams in the league and finished as runners-up. up during the first two seasons and then during the fourth season.

Trinbago Knight Riders was the surprise winner during the third season. They had finished 4th in the previous two seasons and few expected them to claim glory. Once they did, many fans had high hopes for their team, but they followed suit in 2015 by finishing 3rd in 2016. The only other winner in the first four seasons of the Caribbean Premier League was the Barbados Tridents, who won in 2014 and then finished as runner-up the following year.

The team that has the poorest record in the Caribbean Premier League is Antigua Hawksbills, who finished 5th and then 6th in the first two seasons, before becoming inactive after that. St Lucia Zouks also had a bad form. They competed with Antigua at bottom, finishing 6th and then 5th in these opening two seasons before finishing 5th again in 2015 and then advancing to 4th in 2016.

Technically the Caribbean Major League name is Hero CPL, or at least as long as Hero MotoCorp remains a sponsor. Formerly known as Hero Honda, they manufacture scooters and motorcycles in India and are one of the richest companies in the world.

The Caribbean Premier League is managed by the West Indies Cricket Board and has a salary cap of $780,000 (previously $600,000).

ANNIVERSARY

It is one of the most broadcast cricket leagues. It’s not always easy to find live shows of domestic league matches outside of the major countries, but there are more than enough networks to broadcast this one. What’s more, all of this is free and widely available.

For example, in the UK, you can watch the Caribbean Premier League on Dave, a channel available on Sky, BT, Virgin, Freeview, and just about any other TV package. It is also featured on BT Sport, which is available as a pay channel on Sky and as a free addition to BT TV. If you’re in the United States and all of the surrounding territories, you can watch the Caribbean Major Leagues on ESPN.

Other TV channels that broadcast the Caribbean Premier League include ZIZ, CNC3, Guiana TV, and CBC, all of which are based in the Caribbean. It was also featured on TEN Sports in Pakistan, Fox Sports in Australia and Sky Sport in New Zealand. That’s enough for the main one, but there are a few other smaller broadcasters and you can also find live streams online.
